Product Management. Art or Science?
Question: Shouldn't product management be more of an art subject than science?
No.
Art is a subjective expression of one's creativity and imagination. Painting and music playing fall into this category.
Science is an analytical and systematic study of phenomena. Science is practical, data-driven, and experimental.
Product management is a business function.
Although intuition and expressive abilities, for example, are part of product management, there is a greater deal of process and discipline required for product management to accomplish its mission and adequately function within a business setting.
Accordingly, product management is more a science than an art.
