Shift to Agile Principles
Question:"Is modern product management shifting toward applying agile principles?"
Answer: No. The 1960's concepts of Lightweight Software Development (rebranded as Agile in 2001) are primarily applicable to a very certain type of software development projects.
Conversely, the principles of product management are universal and applicable to all products.
Lightweight Software Development principles are irrelevant to most products. It should be noted that Lightweight Software Development, known as Agile nowadays, was never the problem.
The problem was that Scrum had attempted to replace or invalidate product management – a completely misguided and baseless effort.
